Before you call
Questions people ask before booking
Short, direct answers for common worries about fees, attendance, areas and gas safety.
Will I be charged just for you turning up?
No — you’re not charged simply for us arriving. The call-out fee covers finding the fault, such as checking the boiler, tracing a leak or testing the system. We explain the fee before attendance and agree any repair cost before extra work starts.
How quickly can you get here?
Call with your postcode and the problem, or send a photo on WhatsApp, and we’ll tell you clearly whether we can reach you today. Timing depends on current jobs, access and location, so we won’t promise what we can’t do.
Do you cover my area?
All Hours is based around Broxbourne and covers Hoddesdon, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, Ware, Hertford and nearby Hertfordshire towns. If you’re just outside the core area, send your postcode and we’ll tell you honestly whether we can help.
Can landlords book gas safety checks?
Yes. Landlord gas safety checks and CP12 certificates are carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Send the rental property address, tenant access details and deadline so All Hours can arrange the visit and issue the paperwork after the check.
What if it cannot be fixed on the first visit?
Some faults need parts or further investigation. If that happens, we’ll explain what is needed, what it costs and when we can return before any extra work. You should know where you stand instead of being left with an open-ended bill.
Are you Gas Safe registered?
Yes. Gas work is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer — registration 954595. If you smell gas, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 before contacting any plumber or heating engineer.
